So many of my friends, colleagues and clients around the world have shared their personal and professional stories about erotic literature that I began to dust off some of my fiction writing skills to put together some client stories for my upcoming book, The Orgasm Prescription for Women: 21-days to Heightened Pleasure, Deeper Intimacy and Erotic Bliss.
You see, when we doctors or therapists share client case studies to help our readers better understand their challenges we often strip away any identifying details and characteristics. But when it comes to writing about sexuality, arousa, and orgasm, I found the typical clinical writing, well, a bit too dry for my taste.
So in my first draft of the manuscript for the book, I shared a composite of a few clients whom I’ve helped navigate the murky waters of low sexual desire, difficulty achieving orgasm and vaginal dryness or pain. And I took the liberty of bringing their stories to life with a bit more color and spice than in my previous books.
To my surprise and delight, my literary agent said I was right on track. Whew! An added bonus and boost to my writing-ego, she said that the stories should be stimulating. What a relief to me.
And as I started to get feedback from women in focus groups, they, too, expressed delight in reading the stories. Partly because they could relate to the stories, but also they could see how they could get past their issues.
SUBMIT & SHARE
The funny thing that also occurred as I shared this project with love & relationship coaches, is that there are already a number of women’s groups sharing their sexual fantasies, curious questions, and erotic literature. So much so, that some ladies offered up some of their stories to be featured in my new book.
And while I dug into the first round of submissions, (he he he) I discovered a LOT of women who are exploring exactly that. Submission. And domination.
The Fifty Shades series has opened up a lot of women’s eyes to the steamy, slightly kinky world of submission-domination. Mix a few little whips, handcuffs, silk ties with a sprinkle experimentation with giving orders and spanking and voilà! you’ve got a spicy little cocktail for a steamy night in the boudoir.
IT’S YOUR TURN
So now, dear reader, it’s your turn to submit your erotic literature and share your interest with us. During the month of May we will read all entries whether poems, short stories (fiction or fantasy) and anything else you fancy. Some entries may be selected to be read on Sensual Vitality-TV, on our Podcast or even selected for publication in my book.
Send an email along with your document to Erotic@SensualVitality.tv
Sorry, this is not a paid gig. This is meant to give you exposure and a lovely release as a creative outlet. But if you are interested in seeking publishing options, me and my team at MakeYourMarkGlobal.com may be able to help you. We are inviting authors to collaborate on a book of erotic short stories for aspiring writers.
